The DealRoom Story:

The idea for DealRoom began in a small office in downtown Chicago in 2012. Our founder, Kison, was running a boutique M&A practice that focused on hospitality. He realized the standard technology available for M&A created inefficiencies such as team silos, duplicate work, and version control issues. He knew there had to be a better way and that the industry desperately needed a product purpose-built for M&A optimization. Kison’s goal was to disrupt the M&A process, for good. He saw a need for better technology that connected the entire lifecycle of a deal, from initial pipeline management to diligence to post-merger integration. The solution? DealRoom!

What are we looking for?

We’re relaunching FirmRoom and are looking for a driven, strategic, and entrepreneurial leader to take full ownership of the reboot. This growth role combines product ownership, general management, demand generation, and strategic execution. You’ll work directly with the CEO to ideate, iterate, and execute a bold vision for FirmRoom while leveraging DealRoom’s resources and expertise to fast-track success. Key Responsibilities:

1. Go-to-Market and Growth Strategy

  • Develop and execute a lean, product-led growth (PLG) strategy targeting SMBs, with potential geographic expansion into international markets.
  • Build and refine positioning and messaging, emphasizing customer-centric, practical use cases.
  • Collaborate on digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, content marketing, and localized landing pages.
  • Prototype cost-effective experiments to validate hypotheses quickly before full-scale investment.

2. Product Ownership

  • Lead the end-to-end product strategy for FirmRoom, aligning features and capabilities with market needs.
  • Drive ideation, prototyping, and validation of new features and markets, with an emphasis on AI-powered contract management, workflows, and intuitive user experiences.
  • Collaborate with engineering to pull features from DealRoom into FirmRoom (e.g., AI contract analysis, request workflows, digital signatures).
  • Ensure customer use cases drive product development, emphasizing simplicity and scalability for SMBs.
  • Shape the product roadmap, focusing on differentiators like intuitive design, use-case adaptability, and practical AI applications.

3. Leadership & Operations

  • Assemble and manage a team of specialized contractors for design, development, and marketing.
  • Develop efficient workflows and use project management tools to keep the team aligned and productive.
  • Establish an impatience-driven culture, balancing speed and quality to test, learn, and iterate quickly.
  • Own day-to-day operations, including resource allocation, performance tracking, and continuous improvement.


4. Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as a thought partner to the CEO, contributing strategic insights and challenging assumptions.
  • Foster open, candid communication and embrace a feedback-driven culture.
  • Leverage DealRoom resources when appropriate, while building FirmRoom as a distinct, nimble business unit.

What Success Looks Like

  • Revenue Growth: Increase the current 10% YoY growth to over 100% YoY over the next 2 years.
  • Product Differentiation: FirmRoom is recognized as a leading solution for SMB and Mid-Market contract lifecycle management and intuitive workflows.
  • Lean Execution: High ROI on resources and investments, achieving scale with a small, agile team.
  • Global Presence: FirmRoom gains traction in international markets through localization and PLG strategies.

Who you are:

  • Strong understanding of product-led growth and go-to-market strategies for SMB and Mid-Market.
  • Proven experience in product ownership or general management roles, preferably in B2B SaaS.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and contractors, with a focus on speed and quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to zoom in on details and zoom out for big-picture strategy.
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM), virtual data rooms (VDRs), or AI-powered SaaS products is a plus.
